LION YEAR-END APPEAL

by Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association

The Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens is passionately dedicated to the preservation and conservation of all animals.  We have chosen to focus this story on the plight of lions in Africa, and the on-going human/animal conflicts arising when these two species compete for scarce resources.  The story of Sakiria and his champion, Kisimir, the Lion Guardian, inspires us that all is not lost.  There are solutions.  When people work together to implement innovative wildlife management strategies, they can help reduce the negative impact of conflict on humans and animals alike.  Zoos can play an important role in helping to fund such programs, as the Los Angeles Zoo has.

We care about lions.  Won’t you join us in our commitment to save animals from extinction and make a gift by December 31st?

Making a donation to support the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens, will allow us to continue our work here at the Zoo, ensuring that future generations will be able to continue to share our beautiful planet with these amazing and inspiring animals.  Today, everything we do at the zoo involves conservation, education, and our commitment to connect people to wildlife.  If one child walks away caring about the future of lions, or one adult is moved to act for their preservation, our goals of education and protection have been planted and there is hope for the future.

Enlist family and friends to help us raise $50,000 by December 31st!

Talk to your family, friends and colleagues about the human/animal conflicts, threats of poaching and trophy hunting, not only relating to African lions, but elephants, tigers, rhinos, and many other species, species we cherish here at the Los Angeles Zoo.  Awareness leads to caring and caring leads to action.

Take Action and Spread the Word!

  • Make a donation yourself by December 31st
  • Tell family and friends about this important campaign
  • Share and "Like" us on Facebook

When you make a donation of any size to support the Los Angeles Zoo, you are joining thousands of others who are making a commitment to ensuring a future for endangered species, for educating our young ones and even inspiring the next generation of scientists and field researchers.

Join your Zoo family in caring and taking action to insure the lives of the Zoo’s Kalisa and Hubert and their wild born brothers and sisters.  Give as generously as you can.

Sincerely,
